Dynamic & Searchable Social Feeds
How would it differ from the current solution?
At the moment, Social feeds can be uploaded to whatever website you want. However, for them to become publicly visible so users can browse them via the app, the social feed creator needs to use the contact form on this website to submit details of their social feed. Once the social feed details have been added to the website, they will be visible within the app so users can browse rather than having to know the url to type in.
The new plan:
You can still upload to wherever you want and share privately or within your own groups so the social feed isn’t “browsable” within the app, this functionality will not change. However, for those that want to share publicly there could be a simple option…
Upload the social feed to archive.org which allows metadata to be set.
Using certain tags in the metadata, you’ll be able to set things like categories, title, description etc.
The app would be able to search archive.org for items matching the description and only return results of valid social feeds. This would give the following benefits:
- Lists are dynamically populated in real time Creators are in full control of their content, they can disable or update as and when required.
- There is absolutely no reliance on this or the feedit2me website.
- Full search functionality would be possible – search for keywords in social feed descriptions, categories, dates created/updated etc.
