Create backup accounts
This is optional, it’s just a safeguard in case you get cancelled on one of the social media platforms.
Obviously the simple solution to not get cancelled is to stop using dictatorial sites such as Facebook & Twitter, you can find a list of alternative suggestions here. However, these are the biggest platforms in their field so it’s understandable why you may still choose to use them.
If you are using a platforms like these, you might want to create a new backup account. Of course you could just create a new account once you’ve been suspended on your original one, but if you’ve got a lot of friends on there it can be hard work trying to find them again and add them to this new account. By creating a second account it gives you a way to notify everyone on your friends list that you’re now using this other account. Obviously, once you’ve created this account you need to manually go through your friends list and add everyone again but it’s much easier to do that while you still have access to the original account.
It might be a good idea to get your friends to start using the feedit app. That allows you to use your normal platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc. but it collates all the latest posts/articles in a simple to read list and if the worst happens and you get cancelled, you can automatically update your followers so they’re directed to your new account.
